I've been a devoted boater at Topsail Beach, N.C. since I was able to sit in my aunt's lap at 2 years old and drive her Wolverine mahogany speedboat! I have also personally owned every size boat from 15' to 29'. But it wasn't until I owned the bigger boats that my concern for safe, secure, and yet quick docking became a problem. Line lengths verses the tide changes were always questionable. Lifts were too expensive and easily storm damaged. I had the poles but was never sure that the tide change wouldn't allow my boat to come in contact with the dock or the outside poles causing extensive damage to both. I was unable to find anything on the market to alleviate this concern so I developed my own solution. This floating stainless steel cage around the pole rising and falling with the tides was an easy and simple solution. This moving docking system also allowed me to tie my boat so it could be accessed at any tide. The boat could be pulled close to the dock to gain entry but never contact the dock at any water level.
With your ropes already looped at the right lengths one can now quickly tie their boat to the dock and exit onto the pier and return home with the satisfaction that one has achieved worry free boat docking!
